Manglerud skole is a school for years 1-10 in the Østensjø district of the Municipality of Oslo. The school has 822 students and a staff of 111 (from 1 January 2019).
We envision Manglerud to be a school focused on fundamental skills and taking responsibility for our shared future. This vision is pursued through targeted and research-based work. We emphasize reading and math in every subject, a good educational environment, good class leadership and evaluation. A shared future means students learn to care for and respect each other and the environment. The students' learning environment and wellbeing is based on a whole school approach of Restorative Justice, (RJ) and Safe Learning, Norway (Trygg Læring, www.trygglaring.no).
International Classes is a separate entity under Manglerud skole. The program is fully taught in English. Norwegian is taught in two strands, one for beginners and one for advanced students.
International Classes is an authorized IB World School for the Primary Years Programme, and is currently a candidte school for the Middle Year Programme. The PYP programme is offered to years 1-6, and the Middle Year Programme MYP1 for grade 7. After school care is provided for pupils in grades 1-4.
