PROGRAM INFORMATION

The Primary Years Programme at Manglerud Interantional Classes is offered on Years 1-6. The school is an authorized IB World School since 2019.

SCHOOL DAY*

Students in Years 1-6 start their school day at 08:30 on Wednesday and 09:00 all other weekedays. The school day ends at 14:45 on Mondays, Thursday and Fridays, and 14:15 on Tuesday and Wednesday.  

SUBJECTS

PYP focuses on transdisciplinary learning. Students work through six themes over the year which connects all the subjects. Within a unit, students will explore the following disciplines:

Mathematics

Language (Norwegian and English)

Literature (Reading and Writing)

Arts (Music, Drama, Visual Arts, Dance)

Personal, Social, Physical Health Education (PSPE- Gym, Swimming Years 2,3 and 4, Food Science)

Science

Social Sciences (Geography, Economics, History, KRLE (Kristendom, Religion, Livssyn, Etikk) Cultures)

The Program of Inquiry provides an overview of the units that students participate in during their six years of study in the Primary Years Programme.
